Juliet McFarland

Juliet is our newest Teaching Pro at DJTA. She was the Number 1 Singles player for Gonzaga Preparatory School for four years, (2019-2023). Her accomplishments include placing in the top 5 within the 2023 5A Washington State tennis tournament. She is a current member of the Utah Competitive Nationals Tennis team and participated in the 2024 USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship in Rome, Georgia.

Noah Barnes

Noah was born and raised in Spokane and is passionate about Tennis as well as sharing his love of the game with his students. Noah played for Spokane Falls Community College and competed at top area schools as a #1 Singles and Doubles player. He continues to compete at open tournaments around the PNW to improve his skills and experience.  For the past 3 years, Noah has coached for Mead High School’s Boys Varsity and JV Tennis programs. He also has the distinction of being a Level 1 (USPTA) United States Professional Association Certified instructor. 

On a personal note, Noah looks to improve not just his student’s overall game, but how they approach the game of tennis mentally, strategically and tactically. His experience as both player and teaching professional has honed an understanding of instruction tailored to both youth and adult players. 


Dial Jones

As a USPTA Elite instructor, Dial has achieved the highest rating available from the world's largest association of tennis instructors. He has trained with USA Olympic coach Steve Stefanki, Nick Carter (coach of several players ranked in top 20 in ATP and WTA), and Pancho Segura (coach of Jimmy Connors). Dial's former doubles partners include Steve Denton (former #1 ATP doubles player) and Larry Stefanki (former ATP player and coach of 3- #1 ATP players in the world - Andy Roddick, Marcel Rios and Yevgeny Kafelnikov). 

Dial began playing tennis at the age of 9 in Los Altos Hills California and maintained a top 10 ranking in Northern California from ages 14 thru 18. During that time he competed in the Nationals in Kalamazoo, the most prestigious tournament in the country. In his college years he received an athletic scholarship to play singles for #5 ranked NCAA Division 1 University of Texas at Austin. He then went on to play on the pro tour and had significant wins over some of the world's top tennis pros throughout the U.S.,  Europe, New Zealand and Canada before shifting his focus to teaching the sport. 

Dial has taught thousands of players from beginner to professional levels. His students have included a dozen nationally ranked juniors, 4 nationally ranked seniors, numerous juniors who played for both division 1 and 2 universities and over 30 ranked juniors and adults. Over his 30+ years of teaching experience, he has spent 16 years as the director of tennis programs at Marina City Club, Marina del Rey Ritz Carlton, The University Club of Palo Alto, and Club Sport (formerly Amador Athletic Club, was the largest indoor tennis complex in Northern California).  He founded Dial Jones Tennis Academy at the Ocean View Courts 27 years ago and recently opened a second program at Ferris High School and Comstock Park Tennis Courts in Spokane Washington. He is excited to share his decades of experience and love for the sport with you!

Dial's current students vary from ages 6 to 85 and cover a wide range of skill levels. When asked which level of player he enjoys teaching most, he responds, "I have no favorite level, players who value learning, enjoying the sport, and giving their best effort top my list."
